Richard Phillips Feynman

Theoretical physicist

1918-1988

Richard P. Feynman was a North-American theoretical physicist known for his work in the formulation of quantum theory and particle physics.

After years of teaching at Caltech, he produced a series of lectures. From his most famous lecture “There is plenty of room at the bottom” the concept of Nanotechnology was born in the 1990s, making reference to the vast research opportunities that could arise from the individual manipulation of atoms and molecules.

Nanotechnology is a field of research exploited by the scientists of ByAxon in order to develop a new generation of sensors to bypass spinal cord injuries. The bottom-up approach is based on a high-resolution magnetic sensor connected to nanoelectrodes for sensing the neuronal activity at room temperature.
